Lord Jesus, we hold before you all who live and work in our benefice and all who worship you in our churches.

We know you have plans for us, and that these plans are good.

Give us your joy, your thankfulness

and help us to be faithful in prayer, word and worship.

Inspire us to grow in faith, love one another, care for those in need.

Help us to share responsibility,

as we reach out to others and welcome newcomers.

Sustain those with interim responsibilities;

give wisdom to those involved in appointing the new vicar

and prepare the heart of the right person.

Ever-living God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

may we see your kingdom come here

to the glory of your name. Amen.
