We’re pleased that the pergrines have returned again this year.
For anyone visiting Taunton to see the Peregrines, during the season (roughly mid-March to mid-June) a viewing screen is provided in the Minster’s north outer aisle showing the live feed from all four cameras.
- 4 Eggs laid between 14th and 20th March. Both adult birds sharing the incubation duty of these eggs.
- 2 eggs hatched on 22 April and the final 2 on 23 April.
- The juvenile Peregrines began flying from the Tower in early June.
See the following video clip of the juveniles at dawn on a tower precipice. If you get pushed off, it’s not a problem when you have wings…….
See the following video clip of Juvenile GM enjoying breakfast. An outpost perch, with the adult female using the camera support hanging out of the tower to feed the young Peregrines. Just a 50 meter drop below—but then when you have wings it comes naturally!
See the following video clip of the four juvenile Peregrines testing their wings in readiness for their first flight.
