The Military Wives Choirs is a community of nearly 2000 women in 72 choirs across the UK and internationally. We come together to celebrate a love of singing and a communal understanding that comes from our members’ shared experiences of the Armed Forces. Taunton Military Wives Choir is celebrating its 10th Year since its formation in 2013.
The Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue (DSFRS) Concert Band Concert Band were established in 1994 to augment the existing Corps of Drums; many of the original members were serving and retired Fire & Rescue Service personnel and their families. The Band of some 40 members include former professional musicians, as well as skilled amateurs from the broader local community. They perform a varied repertoire, including military marches, classical pieces, big band classics, pop and ragtime numbers, medleys from films and musicals, as well as some contemporary music. The Band’s Principal Conductor and supporting Conductors are former Royal Marines Bandsmen and a former British Army Bandsman.
