On the cusp of Christmas Day when we celebrate and rejoice at the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, we come together for two special services.
At 4pm, we especially welcome people of all ages from 0 to 110. It’s a relaxed and fun service where we sing familiar carols, hear the story of the birth of Jesus and have a good time! The big Christmas tree will be lit and the crib scene at the altar (at child-friendly height) will be there for us all to gaze in wonder at our Saviour’s birth.
At 11.30pm, as we edge to the midnight hour, we come together for a tradtional Minster Communion service supported by the Minster choir and accompanied by the mighty Father Willis organ with carols for all, Christmas music and candlelight. As we go through the service Christmas Day will burst through.
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be all glory given!
