We welcome the the choir of the Senior School of Queen’s College, Taunton with their director, Ed Jenkins, to sing Choral Evensong.
Queen’s College, originally named the West of England Wesleyan Proprietary Grammar School, was founded in 1843 and adopted its present name in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. Queen’s, being a Christian Methodist foundation, emphasises its pupils’ spiritual development. Queen’s moto is ‘non scholae sed vitae discimus’ – ‘we educate not just for school but for life’. It has a strong reputation for the visual and performing arts including drama, dance and music.
